Itinerary

Machu Picchu Express Expeditions - Full Day

The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:20 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. We will then travel by tourist bus for 2 hours to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu). Depending on the train’s departure time, you should always arrive at the train station 30 minutes before departure.06:35 a.m. Be ready at the train station for check in 07:05 a.m. Train Expeditions from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) 08:27 a.m. arrival of the train to Aguas Calientes town.

The train journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Throughout the train ride, you will enjoy beautiful landscapes with extensive fields of crops, livestock, mountains, and snow-capped peaks. Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes train station, Here on arrival your professional English/Spanish-speaking guide will be waiting to transfer you to the bus station. From there, we will travel for 30 minutes to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. After entering the Inca City of Machu Picchu, the guide will begin a guided tour of the main attractions, including the Guardian’s Enclosure, the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Sacred Plaza, the Temple of the Condor, the Sacred Rock, and others. During the tour, we will stop at the most important places for photos.  Your guide will help you to understand the sophisticated ideas and technology of this highly advanced culture.

If you still have energy, you can also climb the mountain of Machu Picchu (which means Old Mountain) at 3000m.or 9840 fee It takes about one hour and a half to get to the top ($70.00 USD – optional) the other option to visit the Huayna Picchu Mountain takes around one hour depending on your fitness. The Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu 2667m. Or 8751 Fee ticket reservation is 3 months in advance and is only for over 12 years of age ($70.00 USD – optional).

Once the official tour is over, we will have enough time to  explore the Sanctuary on our own before returning to Cusco by train in the afternoon.The suggested time to descend from Machu Picchu to the city of Aguas Calientes is 1.00pm. It is recommended to arrive 30 minutes before the departure of the train.
