The Ausangate 7 Lagoons Circuit in Cusco is a stunning full-day hike near the city of Cusco, Peru. It’s nestled in a remote region of the Andes Mountains, at the foot of the Qolqecruz and Ausangate peaks. These colorful 7 lakes of Ausangate, which were only visible to hikers along the Ausangate Trek two years ago, can now be admired in all their natural beauty on a day trip. You’ll visit the seven most famous lakes as part of this impressive excursion. The hike is approximately 10-15 km (5-7 hours). This route is one of the best options and a must-do for lovers of beautiful scenery and hiking

Itinerary

(Cusco - Pacchanta - 7 Lagunas - Pacchanta - Cusco) Full Day

We will begin our exciting tour to the Ausangate 7 Lakes with pickup from your hotel in the city of Cusco starting at 05:00 am. We will head towards the beautiful community of Pacchanta, during a trip of approximately six hours, in which we will have the opportunity to appreciate the impressive flora and fauna of the high Andean landscapes. Once in Pacchanta, we will enjoy a nutritious breakfast typical of the region. We will have a short break during which our guide will give us detailed information about the adventure that is about to begin. After breakfast, we will continue with our walking tour of the 7 Ausangate Lagoons. The route covers approximately 7.5 km and will take us around five hours to explore. During this time, we will visit the Azulqocha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo, Puqacocha, Alqacocha, Qomercocha and Patacocha lagoons, and we will marvel at the view of the majestic mountains such as Ausangate, Mariposa, Jampa, Pucapunta, Caracol and Tinke. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to observe native birds, alpacas, llamas, vizcachas and, with a little luck, the majestic Andean condor. At the end of the lagoon circuit, we will return to Pacchanta where we will enjoy a delicious local lunch. Afterwards, we will relax in the community’s medicinal hot springs, recovering and recharging energy after a day of incredible discoveries in the Andes. Finally, our unforgettable adventure through the 7 Ausangate Lagoons will conclude with our return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.
