Itinerary

Cusco – Pitumarka – Waqrapukara – Cusco

The tour begins very early with hotel pick-up around 4:30 to 5:00 a.m. Once the entire group is together, we will begin the tour towards the South Valley. We will travel for 3 hours in tourist transport towards the town of Santa Lucía. Along the way, we will stop in Cusipata for breakfast at a local restaurant. After breakfast, we will continue our excursion to the community of Santa Lucía. In Santa Lucía, we will take a detour, traveling for another 15 minutes along a winding road until we reach Punta Carretera. Here, we will have about 10 minutes to make final preparations before beginning our hike towards Waqrapukara. Our professional guide will give us all the necessary instructions. Once everyone is ready, we’ll begin our hike. The uphill walk will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, covering a distance of about 2.5 kilometers. Upon arriving at Waqrapukara, the guide will explain the significance of this archaeological complex. Afterward, you’ll have free time to explore the site on your own and take photos. Following the visit, we’ll enjoy a delicious boxed lunch. Then, we’ll return along the same path to Punta Carretera, where our transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. We’ll arrive in Cusco at approximately 6:00 p.m.
