Itinerary

Rainbow Mountain Plus ATV - Full Day Tour

Explore the captivating Rainbow Mountain in Cusco, Peru, on an exciting ATV adventure! We’ll begin the tour by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco’s historic center between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. We’ll travel by private transport south of Cusco for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We’ll arrive in the district of Cusipata to enjoy a buffet breakfast. Then we’ll continue our journey along rural roads surrounded by mountains and crystal-clear rivers. We’ll pass through high Andean villages with thatched roofs and local families. During the ascent, we’ll see llamas and alpacas in their natural habitat. We’ll arrive at the base of Kayrahuire Alto, located at 4,450 meters above sea level. There, we’ll receive a safety and ATV handling briefing from the guide. We’ll have a short practice session in a controlled area before beginning the ATV route to Rainbow Mountain. We’ll equip ourselves with helmets and safety gear to begin the tour. The dedicated road is safe and suitable for beginners. We’ll start our ATV adventure towards Vinicunca, enjoying the view of the imposing Apu Ausangate mountain throughout. We’ll traverse colorful landscapes with typical Andean flora. The ATV ride takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour (round trip). We’ll reach the closest point possible to Vinicunca Mountain. From there, we’ll walk for 5 to 10 minutes to the main viewpoint. We’ll have approximately 40 minutes to rest, take photos, and enjoy the scenery. The panoramic view of Rainbow Mountain is an unforgettable natural spectacle. Then we’ll descend on ATVs for about 30 minutes to Kayrahuire. Afterward, we’ll take transportation to Cusipata to enjoy a buffet lunch with nutritious and energizing Andean options. After lunch, we’ll return to the city of Cusco, arriving at our hotels around 17:00 p.m. This experience combines adventure, culture, and high mountain scenery. It’s perfect for those who want something different and exciting without long hikes.
