Tour Cañon del Colca – Full Day

This full-day Colca Canyon excursion begins with an early morning departure from Arequipa to Chivay for breakfast, followed by a visit to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint to witness the canyon and the majestic flight of the condors. The return journey includes stops to view the valley’s agricultural terraces, a visit to the colonial church in Maca, and an optional soak in the Yanque Hot Springs before lunch in Chivay. On the drive back to Arequipa, you will stop at the high-altitude Mirador de los Volcanes (4,800m), spot grazing alpacas at Toccra Bofedales, and observe wild vicuñas at Pampa Cañahuas, concluding with a late afternoon hotel drop-off.

Itinerary

Tour Cañon del Colca - Full Day

Very early in the morning our staff will stop by your hotel at 03:00 a.m. to 03:30 a.m. We will depart from the white city of Arequipa towards the Town of Chivay. After 2 and a half hours of travel we will arrive at the town of Chivay where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast we will go to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, it is the observation point of the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the Condor. We will spend an average of 45 minutes in this place to observe the beauty of the Colca Canyon. On the way back we will stop at the viewpoints in the area from where we will observe the impressive terraces of the Valley and in the town of Maca, where we will visit its church. Before lunch we will enjoy a relaxing bath in the Yanque Hot Springs (Optional). whose Thermo medicinal waters range between 35º C to 38º C in temperature in the pools. 12:30pm – Lunch in the town of Chivay. After our lunch we will return to Arequipa and during the journey we will stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, which is also the highest area of ​​the road (4800 masl or 15,744 feets) from where we will appreciate a large part of the western mountain range. Then we will also make a small stop at the Toccra Bofedales where we will observe a large number of Alpacas grazing freely in the area. Bordering the snowy Chachani towards Pampa Cañahuas we will pass through the home of vicuñas which live freely in this area. 05:00p.m. – We will arrive in the city of Arequipa and we will drop you off at the hotel
